The Virtual Tablet Interface™ is a digitizer software suite for Microsoft® Windows™ XP, Windows™ 2000, Windows™ NT, Windows™ 9X including Millennium and Windows™ 3.1. In addition to the highest performance digitizer device drivers available for Windows, the Virtual Tablet Interface provides a wealth of digitizing features for all Windows applications whether they support digitizers or not. 

In addition, it offers the ability to create color template menus for use with any Windows application. Finally, the Virtual Tablet Interface is uniquely task-oriented which means that any feature can be set for a particular application, and will activate each time the application gets the input focus on the Windows desktop.

Device Drivers

The Virtual Tablet Interface includes device drivers for over 370 digitizer configurations running on both Win16 and Win32 platforms. Digitizer manufacturers fully supported include: AceCad, ALTEK, CalComp, GTCO, Hitachi, Houston Instruments, Kontron, Kurta, Genius, LASICO, Mitsubishi, Numonics, Science Accessories, Summagraphics, and Wacom. Key features include:

Fully compatible with all Virtual Tablet Interface digitizer applications including all prior versions through the current version.

bullet

Complete compatibility with all Wintab compatible applications such as AutoCAD, Photoshop, CorelDraw, MapInfo, ArcView, Painter, etc.

Runs concurrently on the Windows desktop as a mouse pointer, digitizing tablet, and pen for handwriting input.

Tablet Manager

The Virtual Tablet Manager, instantly available from the task bar, provides the gateway to the Virtual Tablet Interface’s wealth of digitizer features and multi-tasking support. Key features include:

Task-oriented interface permitting modifying digitizer properties on a per-application basis.

bullet

Tabbed dialogs for changing the digitizer’s active and screen areas, button configurations, screen movement, pressure scales, macro commands, device and driver properties, and system usage.

An innovative statistics page for diagnosing any type of driver, serial port, or system configuration or conflict.

Template Editor

The Virtual Tablet Editor allows users to inter­actively design digitizer template menus by drawing and specifying command functions for various types of graphical objects. These menus may be printed and used for command input. Key features include:

Create or edit template menus from scratch, using a template wizard, or by tracing directly from existing artwork.

bullet

Imports a variety of graphics file formats including metafiles, bitmaps, drawing exchange and encapsulated postscript.

bullet

Standard features including multiple document interface; drag & drop; pan, zoom, multiple-selections; undo, cut, copy, paste; and mail. Also includes a tool bar, style bar and status bar.

System Requirements

The Virtual Tablet Interface requires the following end-user hardware and software configuration:

Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows 9X or Windows 3.1.

Any of 465 supported or compatible digitizing tablets.

Graphics display system capable of 800x600 resolution.

1 MB free disk space excluding online documentation.

bullet

Adobe Acrobat (version 3 or higher) for PDF manuals.
